Finding Balance Between Indoors and Out: A Conversation with Dary
Known for her calm, nature-inspired spaces, Dary Rem creates a seamless flow between indoor comfort and outdoor serenity. We sat down with her to talk about home, design, and the small details that turn a space into a feeling—both inside and out.
Here's our interview:
1. Your home and outdoor spaces look incredibly serene and intentional. What does home mean to you on an emotional level?
For me, home is an emotional refuge — the place where I feel completely authentic and at peace. It’s filled with memories, warmth, and connection with the people I love. It’s my sanctuary, where every corner tells my story and recharges my spirit.

2. When setting up a corner of your home or patio, where do you usually start—colors, furniture, or lighting? Could you walk us through your process?
I always start with natural light — it’s my main guide. I observe how it enters, where it falls, and how it changes throughout the day. Then I define a palette of soft, harmonious colors that complement that light. Finally, I choose furniture and textiles that add warmth and comfort, creating spaces that invite you to slow down and breathe.

3.How has spending time in nature or the outdoors influenced the way you approach your interior styling?
Nature inspires me with its authentic textures, neutral tones, and calming rhythm. I try to bring that feeling indoors with linen fabrics, light woods, and live plants. It’s about creating a fresh, balanced, and organic atmosphere that feels connected to the outdoors.

4. Is there a part of your home or outdoor space that you always go to when you want to relax or reset? What makes it special for you?
My favorite spot is the corner by my living room window, where the afternoon sun gently filters in. I keep a cozy chair there with soft throws and plants around it. It’s where I read, breathe deeply, and enjoy quiet moments. That golden light makes it feel intimate and truly restorative.
5. What are 2–3 must-have elements you believe every cozy outdoor space should include??
- Cozy textiles (pillows, light blankets) to bring warmth and comfort.
- Soft lighting, like string lights or warm lanterns, to create atmosphere in the evening.
- Natural, living elements — potted plants, flowers, or even aromatic herbs for freshness and life.
6. How do you see the role of outdoor living evolving in our daily lives, especially as more people seek calm and connection at home?
I think outdoor spaces are becoming emotional extensions of our homes. They’re no longer just functional — they’re turning into sanctuaries where we seek peace, fresh air, and reconnection. People are transforming them into personal retreats for reading, meditating, having coffee, or simply breathing — a healing escape within everyday life.
Dary reminds us that home isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling, a rhythm, and a reflection of what we value. Through simple choices, natural textures, and quiet moments spent outside, she creates spaces that breathe.
We’re grateful for the chance to learn more about her process and perspective—and inspired by the way she brings nature into every corner of her life. Stay tuned as we continue to explore more voices who redefine the meaning of outdoor living, one space at a time.
